HOW THE GBA BECAME A REALITY?
In 2006 several dedicated individuals based in and around Fort Valley, Georgia conceived the idea of forming the Georgia Barbecue Association. Dedicated to the pursuit of great Bar B Que focusing on taste.
Thus the GBA slogan was born - "It's All About The Taste". In September of 2007 the first GBA State Competition was held in Fort Valley, Georgia.
What started with 17 barbecue teams cooking in the streets of Fort Valley has quickly been one of the fastest growing barbecue associations anywhere. The GBA uses a unique format, with all llind Judging only, with a MBN style.
